Three of Tottenham’s big Premier League fixtures at the start of the season have been rearranged for broadcast.
Pre-season is just days away, and there is a feeling of excitement around Tottenham, a far cry from the agony that everyone associated with the club experienced in the final months of last season.
Spurs have sent out a statement of their ambition to the rest of the Premier League, with the Lilywhites having spent a whopping £237m on six new players so far.
Roberto De Zerbi will look to get the club back competing at the top end of the Premier League table, where the North Londoners feel they belong, after two poor campaigns domestically.
Tottenham’s clashes against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Everton rearranged
Tottenham kick off their new campaign with a trip to Brentford on August 22, and they have a tough first month, with some difficult fixtures against sides that could be in direct competition with them for European places.
Spurs will want to improve their abject home record over the last two seasons, and they have a difficult start at home, with Newcastle United, Everton and Aston Villa being the first three visitors to N17.
It has now been announced that the date and timing of all three fixtures have been rearranged for broadcast. Here are the new dates and timings:
- Tottenham vs Newcastle: August 29, 5.30 pm kick-off
- Tottenham vs Everton: September 12, 5.30 pm kick-off
- Tottenham vs Aston Villa: September 19, 12.30 pm kick-off

Why Spurs may struggle to get out of the blocks quickly
We see that whenever wholesale changes are made to a squad, like Tottenham are doing this summer, the team generally has a slow start to the season.
It may take a month or two for the new squad to gel together and for the new arrivals to understand De Zerbi’s system.
However, some of that could be mitigated by the fact that all of the signings so far have Premier League experience under their belt, and will have a long pre-season with the Italian, having been signed early in the window.
