Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi has addressed whether Savio could be deployed on the left following Mykhailo Mudryk’s injury.
The injury to Mykhailo Mudryk is a big blow for Tottenham, who would have been looking to get the wide forward into a rhythm after his close to two-year ban from football.
However, that chance has now hit a block, with Mudryk set to miss the next six to eight weeks of action after picking up an ankle injury.
That blow leaves Mathys Tel as the only recognised option on the left, but De Zerbi still believes he has more cover.

Speaking to football.london ahead of the clash against Everton this weekend, the Tottenham manager spoke about the situation on the left for Tottenham and revealed whether Savio could be an option in the position following Mudryk’s injury.
The Tottenham boss explained that, despite Savio not normally playing as a left winger, his versatility could allow him to operate there if the situation requires it.
He said: “I was a player and I was a winger or maybe more number 10, but I played many years as a right-winger and left foot. I love the wingers on the opposite side but Savio is top. I think he can play in both positions.”

James Maddison is also an option on the left for Tottenham, according to the Tottenham boss, who also provided further insight into how he could use the Englishman on the left, even though he is not a natural winger.
He told football.london: “Yes, I think he can be an option. Normally he is not a winger but we have to build the situation to put inside and push higher the left-back.
“Maddison is very smart and when you play with smart players, they can understand the right position, they can smell the right position.
“It depends on the situation but it can be a good solution and especially because Conor Gallagher and Mateus Fernandes as a 10, they can play as a midfield.
“They can play as a 10/midfielder and not inside like Xavi Simons last season. Maybe sometimes you have a midfielder who is able to start as a winger and then come inside with the ball in possession, but it is not like this for me and my idea for Gallagher and Mateus. Yeah, Maddison is like Xavi and he can play that position.”
