Tottenham Hotspur head into the summer still managing a significant injury list, with a couple of key players expected to miss pre-season.
With the 25-26 season now done, many Tottenham Hotspur fans will be taking some time off to unwind during the off-season, with the World Cup set to commence.
Not just Spurs fans, but several Tottenham players are set to remain in north London after missing out on a World Cup call-up.
Some stars missed out because of long-term injuries, while others did not make the cut following a dismal season with Tottenham.
Once the World Cup ends, focus will again turn to club football. Spurs Web has since revealed when pre-season starts for Spurs, with their first match in Australia coming in July.
But which players will be available for those pre-season games, with several stars still out injured? Spurs Web has now assessed the injury situation, with several key names still working their way back to fitness.

Tottenham injury list: Cristian Romero and Mohammed Kudus return dates
Injuries were one of the major reasons for Spurs’ collapse last campaign. Several key players spent long spells on the treatment table, which had a clear impact on performances.
James Maddison, who described Tottenham’s injury situation as ‘worse’ than any other club, believed that had many first-team regulars been fit, they would not have finished so low in the league table.
As it stands, Spurs are still without several players, with Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Cristian Romero and Xavi Simons all sidelined.
At present, Kudus and Romero are the closest to a return. Kudus will be aiming to return in time for the World Cup finals later this month with Ghana.
Romero is also targeting a World Cup return with Argentina, and Spurs Web has reported on Romero’s injury progress, with the Argentine seen doing outdoor training.
A return date has been pencilled in for 29/06/2026 for Kudus, while 08/06/2026 is the expected return for Romero.
Spurs injury concerns continue over Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert
Odobert and Simons, on the other hand, are dealing with long-term injuries, with Simons suffering an ACL injury in the Wolves clash towards the tail end of the season, while Odobert picked up his setback earlier in the year against Manchester United.
Both players are expected to miss pre-season. Simons is not expected to return until 2027, while Odobert could still feature again this year, with a return currently pencilled in for November.
Dejan Kulusevski’s absence has also raised concerns. The midfielder has been out since May 2025 and did not feature at all this season under any of Tottenham’s managers.
Kulusevski suffered a patella injury and has been undergoing rehabilitation since. A return is not too far away, and he could yet be involved in pre-season. 27/07/2026 has been earmarked as a possible return date for first-team action.
