Tottenham line up young Harry Kane alternative who scored 19 in 30 last season

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on a 21-year-old striker who cannot seem to stop scoring, just in case they can’t seal a Harry Kane reunion.

Tottenham Hotspur have received praise this season for looking more organised and composed in defence. However, Thomas Frank still has work to do as he attempts to make his team more dangerous going forward.

Spurs have been heavily reliant on Richarlison this season, who is enjoying his first-team starts after being linked with a move away from North London during the past two transfer windows.

However, they may look to sign another centre forward, a move which could be motivated by the injury problems suffered by Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani.

Tottenham are interested in Samu Aghehowa

TEAMtalk report that Tottenham are keeping an eye on Samu Aghehowa as a long-term option to strengthen the team’s goal threat. The Porto striker only turned 21 this year and has years of his playing career ahead of him.

Spurs are lining up alternatives to Harry Kane in case the club’s record goalscorer does not return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next summer. They have turned their attention to a number of young strikers across Europe and Aghehowa is believed to be one of them.

Rumours of external investment at Tottenham next year have only heightened ambition behind the scenes. However, Spurs officials have made clear that their desire to identify young talents has already been underway across this year.

Samu Aghehowa is a proven goalscorer

Aghehowa is quick and powerful and often gets himself on the scoresheet. The striker found the back of the net 19 times in 30 league appearances last season, and this season he has already scored five goals in six games.

It is worth noting that this was in the same league where Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres scored 39 goals last season. However, Aghehowa also scored six goals in the Europa League, which is more than any Spurs player managed, despite Porto being knocked out in the play-off round.

Aghehowa may not have been tested yet in the biggest leagues in the world, but he is showing a lot of early promise and could be the goalscorer Spurs need.
