Randal Kolo Muani could yet reunite with Brennan Johnson against Tottenham as two English clubs join race

Randal Kolo Muani looked destined to return to Juventus this summer, but fresh reports suggest two of Tottenham’s Premier League rivals have now entered the race for the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

After managing just one Premier League goal in 30 appearances last season, the expectation throughout the summer was that Tottenham would not pursue a permanent deal for Randal Kolo Muani after his season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old did fare much better in Europe, registering 6 goal contributions in 5 Champions League starts, but he never looked fully settled in English football. As a result, many Spurs supporters felt the club should move in a different direction in their search for a new striker.

Juventus have since emerged as the favourites to sign the France international and have already agreed personal terms with the player. Kolo Muani also enjoyed a productive spell in Turin during the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances. However, the transfer has now hit an unexpected obstacle.

Juventus delay opens the door for two Premier League clubs

According to Foot Mercato journalist Sebastien Denis, there has been little progress between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus in recent weeks despite the two clubs previously working towards a loan deal that included a €40m purchase option.

The report claims Juventus’ difficult financial situation has slowed negotiations, with PSG now beginning to lose patience over the lack of progress. As a result, the French champions are no longer prepared to wait exclusively for the Serie A side and have started exploring alternative destinations for the striker.

Denis adds that Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund have all entered the picture, with each club searching for a proven number nine ahead of the new season.

That follows our previous report revealing that Tottenham had also made contact with PSG over the possibility of bringing Kolo Muani back to North London. The update was not well received by many Spurs supporters, who would rather see the club pursue other attacking targets, and there has fortunately been little movement on that front since.

Tottenham remain focused on Eli Junior Kroupi and Dusan Vlahovic

Tottenham continue to be heavily linked with Eli Junior Kroupi, with the Bournemouth forward still regarded as the club’s priority striker target despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Barcelona.

Bournemouth continue to insist the 20-year-old is not for sale, but the understanding remains that Spurs are preparing to test the Cherries’ resolve with an official offer in the coming weeks. Kroupi has also already given the green light to joining De Zerbi’s project, while a fee in the region of £85m could ultimately prove enough to complete the transfer.

Another long-standing name on Tottenham’s shortlist is Dusan Vlahovic, who is expected to leave Juventus after the Italian club failed to meet the wage demands of their highest-paid player.

The Serbian has reportedly been offered to Tottenham’s recruitment team, with Chelsea and Besiktas also monitoring his situation. However, Kroupi remains Spurs’ preferred option at this stage of the window.
