Tottenham could be forced into the market for another left-back this summer, with Destiny Udogie’s injury issues continuing to raise concerns despite his impressive performances under Roberto De Zerbi.
Since returning from injury, Destiny Udogie has looked really solid at full-back under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
The Italian offers tactical flexibility down the left given his ability to invert into midfield while also functioning as a traditional full-back.
However, his injury record has certainly not been the best, with the defender often sidelined each season.
This campaign alone, Udogie has spent a whopping 136 days on the sidelines – a record that has left Tottenham supporters frustrated, leading them to compare the Italian with Darren Anderton.

Tottenham contact Andrea Cambiaso over summer transfer
As cover for Udogie, Spurs do have Djed Spence, Souza and Ben Davies. Spence is not a similar profile to the Italian, while Souza is still a youngster adapting to the Premier League.
Davies, meanwhile, has had his own struggles with injuries and could well be on his way out this summer.
According to Tutto Juve, Tottenham are now considering the signing of another left-back during the summer transfer window.
It is claimed that Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso is a player on Spurs’ radar and that the north London side have already made contact to ask about the 26-year-old ahead of the summer.
However, Spurs are expected to face stiff competition if they are to land the defender, who is of a similar mould to Udogie. Not only can Cambiaso operate as a traditional full-back, he is also capable of tucking into midfield and inverting.
Spurs face Liverpool and Manchester City battle for Andrea Cambiaso
Journalist Mirko Di Natale also took to X to share a further update on the full-back’s situation ahead of the summer.
According to the journalist, Spurs are set to battle Liverpool, Manchester City and Inter Milan for the signature of the 26-year-old.
Inter already attempted to sign Cambiaso during the winter window, but their approach was turned down by Juventus. The Nerazzurri could return again by including Carlos Augusto as part of the deal.
It is further explained that Cambiaso is valued at around £34m-£43m (€40m-€50m), although that fee could still drop to around £26m-£30m (€30m-€35m) if Juventus fail to qualify for the Champions League.
As it stands, the Old Lady is fourth in the table, trailing third-placed Milan by two points and sitting one point ahead of fifth-placed AS Roma. Como are sixth and sit three points behind Juventus.
