Tottenham may have to slash their asking price in half to force through Serie A transfer

Tottenham Hotspur would need to significantly revise their asking price for Manor Solomon for Fiorentina to sign the winger permanently.

According to reports, Roberto De Zerbi has already informed Solomon that he is not part of his plans, with the winger expected to exit N17.

The Israeli international, who arrived on a free transfer to Spurs in 2023, has not played a competitive game for the Lilywhites for almost three years, having had loan spells at Leeds, Villarreal and Fiorentina over the last two years.

Fiorentina’s £8.7m option to buy Solomon permanently has not been exercised, but their interest in the winger remains.

Fiorentina want Tottenham to halve their asking price for Manor Solomon

A report in Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now claimed that Fiorentina are indeed looking to add multiple wingers to their squad this summer.

Solomon remains on their radar, but the Serie A club’s decision-makers are not willing to meet Tottenham’s asking price for the player.

In fact, it is suggested that Spurs have to drop their €10m (£8.5m) asking price by half for the Italian club to pursue a deal.

The report says that the Premier League side could be open to doing that as they have indicated willingness to negotiate on the 26-year-old’s price.

Solomon felt offended by Spurs last summer

Whether Fiorentina land the winger or not, it appears clear that he has no future at the North London club.

That became evident when Solomon admitted a few days ago that he felt offended by the way he was treated by Tottenham last summer.

The Israel international explained that Thomas Frank and Spurs had initially expected a desire to keep him last summer, only to change their tune on transfer deadline day when Randal Kolo Muani became available on loan.
