Tottenham remain open to parting ways with Richarlison amid interest from Juventus and Fenerbahce this transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur remain in the market for forward options this summer despite their financial foray. £237 million has been spent on recruits, but the bulk of that has gone into the signing of midfielders and defenders.
Roberto De Zerbi has since confirmed that Spurs remain in the market for attackers and made it clear that the north London outfit aims to secure their number one target.
He said: “First of all, I think it is not finished yet, our transfer market window. We have to finish; we have to bring another couple, maybe more, maybe not less, but a couple of players.”
On whether improving Spurs’ attacking options is now the priority, De Zerbi added: “Yes, yes, the target now is to complete the attacking positions. We want the first target, the first level, because we have already important players. But I think to start a new project we need another couple of important players for sure.”
Juventus explore £17m–£21m deal as Richarlison future hangs in balance
With Tottenham on the lookout for a new forward, the future of Richarlison continues to hang in the air.
The Brazilian has attracted interest from Juventus and Fenerbahce this summer transfer window, and with one year left on his deal, Tottenham would be looking to offload him so as not to lose money.
CaughtOffside has now revealed that Richarlison is no longer untouchable at Spurs and that the Lilywhites are open to parting with the forward.
At the moment, Juventus appear to offer the most realistic European route, but that in itself may depend on whether they can revive a deal for Randal Kolo Muani.
The report says Tottenham have ‘opened talks’ over a potential sale this summer.
The Turin club have identified Richarlison as an alternative to the Parisian forward, with Spurs willing to negotiate for a fee in the region of £17–21 million (€20m–€25m).
As for the forward’s wages, that is not expected to be an issue, as his current £90,000‑a‑week salary fits comfortably within Juventus’ pay structure.
Richarlison prefers UK stay but open to Europe’s elite
Spurs Web has since revealed that Richarlison’s preference is to remain in England after becoming a British citizen.
However, it is now claimed that if he does move away from the UK, he would be open to joining a big club in Europe.
That is what currently gives Juventus an edge over the likes of Fenerbahce and clubs in the Middle East who have shown interest in signing him as well.
