Tottenham receive good and bad news regarding discount deal for Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for RB Leipzig star, Antonio Nusa, whose price has come to light ahead of the summer window.

The fact that Roberto De Zerbi had to rely on the likes of Randal Kolo Muani and Djed Spence in the wide areas over recent weeks perhaps shows just how desperately Spurs need a new winger in the summer.

While Spurs could be boosted by the returns of Mohammed Kudus, Wilson Odobert and perhaps even Dejan Kulusevski, they are seemingly also on the lookout for additional reinforcements.

It emerged last week that De Zerbi’s men had expressed interest in a deal for Nusa, who impressed with his pace and directness in the Bundesliga, finishing the campaign with five goals and four assists.

Roma ready to challenge Tottenham for Antonio Nusa

It has now been revealed by Gazzetta dello Sport that the Lilywhites may face a challenge from AS Roma for the Leipzig star.

The report says that Gian Piero Gasperini is keen to strengthen his attack this summer and is prioritising adding a top-class left-winger to his squad.

The name at the top of the experienced Italian manager’s wishlist is that of Nusa, whose displays at the Red Bull Arena have impressed the decision-makers at the Italian capital.

The Norwegian international is seen as the ‘ideal’ fit for Gasperini’s system, due to his pace, hunger and his eye for goal.

Leipzig’s asking price for Nusa has gone down

Interestingly, Gazzetta say that Roma also asked about the 21-year-old’s availability during the January transfer window.

At the time, Leipzig demanded €60m (£51.7m) due to the difficulty of finding a replacement in the winter, and that fee was deemed too high by the Serie A club.

However, the outlet asserts that the Bundesliga side would be willing to sell the former Club Brugge man for just €50m (£43.1m) in the summer.
