Tottenham send scouts to watch France international winger with 5 G/A this season

Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch one French target during the international break, and it sounds like he impressed with a bright cameo.

Tottenham Hotspur made seven signings during the summer transfer window, and most of these revolved around strengthening their attack.

Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons were brought in due to the long-term injuries of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison. Two signings were also made up front, with Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani joining the ranks.

However, Spurs have not always looked convincing in the forward areas under Thomas Frank and could look to sign a player who was linked with the club during the summer.

Tottenham send scouts to watch Maghnes Akliouche

Spurs made efforts to sign Maghnes Akliouche last summer, and the France international responded to their interest ahead of Tottenham’s 0-0 draw with Monaco last month. Akilouche revealed he was flattered to have interest from Spurs, but he remained committed to his club.

According to Team Talk, Tottenham had representatives keeping an eye on the 23-year-old during France’s 4-0 victory over Ukraine on Thursday night. Akliouche came off the bench during the match and was said to have made a positive impact.

This is the latest phase in Tottenham’s pursuit of the Ligue 1 talent, with the club having already monitored him closely at Monaco.

Spurs are undecided on a new attacker

Frank wants a new edge to his attack, and Akliouche is viewed as an exciting player who is good both on and off the ball.

However, Tottenham have a number of attacking options, so there is no guarantee that they will make direct contact with Monaco in a bid to sign Akliouche. It is expected that a decision will be made soon, with Spurs ready to sign a new attacker as early as January.

So far this season, Akliouche has three goals and two assists from 11 Ligue 1 matches, as well as four appearances in the Champions League – including a positive performance against Tottenham.
