Tottenham Hotspur remain keen to keep Micky van de Ven in north London, but Manchester United and Liverpool continue to show strong interest despite Spurs’ steep asking price for the defender.

There is no denying that the focus at Tottenham Hotspur remains on securing their Premier League status, with three games left to play this season.

Should Tottenham avoid relegation to the Championship, their summer transfer plans could look very different, as could the number of exits from north London.

Spurs Web has already put together a list of 10 players who could be headed out of north London should Tottenham become a Championship side next season, and among them is Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham set Micky van de Ven asking price amid transfer interest

van de Ven has certainly attracted interest in recent months, with Manchester United, Liverpool and clubs in Spain all continuing to monitor his situation closely.

Spurs will hope to keep hold of the Dutchman, but failure to secure Premier League football will only make that task more difficult.

TeamTalk is now reporting that Van de Ven faces a major decision over his future this summer as Manchester United and Liverpool weigh up big-money approaches.

Tottenham are said to value the defender between £60m and £90m, depending on which division they are in next season.

Regardless, that valuation has done little to put Liverpool and United off, with both clubs remaining keen.

Liverpool reportedly views Van de Ven as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk and wants the pair to play together next season, while Manchester United are looking to strengthen defensively and sees the Spurs star as an ideal fit for their backline.

Spurs still have hope of keeping Micky van de Ven

It is claimed that a move to Merseyside will be the more appealing option for Van de Ven, with the defender understood to be a Liverpool supporter who would prioritise a switch to Anfield should the opportunity arise.

However, a move to Manchester United has not been completely ruled out, with the Dutchman believed to be intrigued by the prospect of playing under ambitious ownership.

Tottenham are also still firmly in the picture, with Roberto De Zerbi’s influence viewed as crucial. Should the Italian help Spurs secure their Premier League status and provide assurances that the squad will be strengthened this summer, Van de Ven could decide to remain in north London.

This comes after Spurs Web recently reported that van de Ven would be keen to sign a new deal if Tottenham stay up, with the Dutchman said to be very happy working under De Zerbi.
