Tottenham are stepping up their pursuit of a highly-rated La Liga forward ahead of the summer transfer window as Roberto De Zerbi looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Tottenham supporters remain frustrated by the club’s lack of activity in recent transfer windows, especially given the role injuries have played in the disastrous season they are currently enduring.
Spurs have lost more days to injuries than any other side in the league, with several key attacking players missing long stretches of the campaign.
James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, in particular, have been unavailable for over a year, leaving Roberto De Zerbi desperately short of creative options in the final third.
At present, the Italian effectively has only three fully fit attackers available in Richarlison, Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel, with no depth beyond that.
Following promises of a major rebuild from sporting director Johan Lange, Tottenham have now been linked with another attacking reinforcement ahead of the summer window.

Tottenham ready to activate Karl Etta Eyong release clause
According to reports in Spain, Tottenham are showing strong interest in Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong and are prepared to meet the club’s demands to secure a deal.
Levante are believed to value the Cameroon international at around €30 million (£25.9 million), and Spurs are reportedly willing to trigger that release clause.
With Dominic Solanke, Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison all struggling for consistency this season, Roberto De Zerbi is said to believe the 22-year-old would fit naturally into his attacking system.
Etta Eyong has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in Spain, registering seven goals and four assists in just over 1,600 minutes across 31 league appearances. The striker is also admired for his finishing ability, movement across the frontline, pressing intensity and link-up play, qualities that De Zerbi values heavily in his forwards.
However, Tottenham are not alone in the race, with two other Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Manchester United, also understood to be monitoring the situation closely.
Tottenham continue search for attacking reinforcements
Reports suggest Paris Saint-Germain would demand around €30 million (£27 million) to make Randal Kolo Muani’s move permanent this summer, although it is also claimed that the French forward does not expect to extend his stay in North London.
At the same time, Tottenham are reportedly open to offers for both Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as part of a wider squad rebuild.
West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville remains on Tottenham’s radar after earlier interest in the winter, with Spurs believed to be willing to pay a similar fee to the one being discussed for Etta Eyong and Kolo Muani (£25m), and we believe this would be enough to land him if West Ham go down.
Tottenham’s search has also stretched across Europe, with Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda and Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani both linked with moves to North London.
Meanwhile, De Zerbi is also understood to be interested in bringing Moise Kean back to the Premier League, with a fee in the region of £43 million potentially enough to begin talks with Fiorentina.
