Tottenham youngster hits hat-trick on international duty despite loan struggles this season

Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore reminded everyone of his talent over the weekend, delivering a stunning hat-trick performance for England’s Under-19 side as they cruised to a commanding win against Belgium.

Mikey Moore has not had the best of spells out on loan with Rangers, as the Scottish side has struggled to find any real rhythm this term.

As such, Moore’s impact has been limited, with the Tottenham youngster managing just a single assist after 10 appearances for the Glasgow club.

However, while on international duty with England’s Under-19s, Moore offered a timely reminder of his quality, producing a standout display that showcased his sharpness and composure in front of goal.

Tottenham’s Mikey Moore bags hat-trick for England Under-19s against Belgium

In England’s tie against Belgium on Saturday afternoon, Mikey Moore scored his first hat-trick for the Under-19s as they stormed to a 4-1 win.

The Tottenham youngster started the clash alongside Callum Olusesi, but it was Moore who grabbed his first of the afternoon on the stroke of half-time, doubling his side’s lead after Shumaira Mheuka’s opener.

The 18-year-old then added his second and third on 58 and 65 minutes respectively before both he and Olusesi were withdrawn with 23 minutes of the game remaining.

This is not Moore’s first hat-trick in the white of England, as he previously scored a hat-trick for the Young Lions’ Under-17 side back in November 2023.

Moore’s loan spell at Rangers could take a turn

Moore would now be hoping he can take this form back to Scotland when he returns to pull on his club’s shirt once again.

There have been talks about a possible recall from loan for Moore, but it remains to be seen if Spurs decide to follow through with that.

Rangers, however, are now on the hunt for a new manager, with Steven Gerrard emerging as the frontrunner for the job, and should the former Liverpool man take charge, Moore would be hoping he can thrive under his guidance, especially after showing with his recent performance that he is a talented young player with plenty of promise.
