One of the biggest clubs in the Premier League could be about to enter the race for Tottenham’s Djed Spence after his impressive performances at the World Cup for England.

Spence has been showered with praise by the English media for his performance in the semi-final against Argentina, even though the Three Lions fell to a painful 2-1 loss.

The Tottenham full-back was arguably the only England player to come away with any credit on Wednesday, and his performances throughout the World Cup have allegedly piqued the interest of several top clubs.

It has emerged over recent days that the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle have entered the race for Spence, and it turns out that the Reds’ interest in the player is not recent.

Tottenham star Djed Spence has been on Liverpool’s radar since 2023

Anfield Watch have now confirmed that the Spurs full-back is indeed one of the names on Liverpool’s wishlist ahead of the new season.

It is revealed that Liverpool are set to undertake another major rebuild ahead of Andoni Iraola’s reign, and signing another full-back is on the club’s agenda.

The report claims that the Merseyside club have kept a close eye on Spence since his loan spell at Rennes back in 2023, with their scouts impressed by the Tottenham man at the time.

While the Reds’ interest in the defender has never escalated to a bid, they are keeping tabs on the 25-year-old, as they continue to look for any market opportunities that arise.

Serie A club want Spence but may struggle to meet asking price

It has been widely reported over the last week that Inter Milan enquired about Spence’s availability to Tottenham.

Several sources have indicated that the Spurs defender would be open to a move to the San Siro this summer if the two clubs can strike a deal.

However, according to a recent update by Sky Sports Italia, Inter only want to pay around €25-€30m (£21.2m-£25.5m) for Spence, which falls short of Tottenham’s asking price.
