Tottenham Hotspur are expected to continue their summer spending spree over the next few weeks after completing a club record deal for Mateus Fernandes.

After weeks of speculation, it emerged on Tuesday evening that Tottenham had struck an £85m deal with West Ham for Mateus Fernandes,

The 21-year-old becomes the second player after Mohammed Kudus to make the move from Hammers to Spurs over the last 12 months, with the Lilywhites beating out Man United to his signature.

Roberto De Zerbi reportedly played a key role in convincing Fernandes to join Spurs, and it has now emerged that the Tottenham boss wants the club to complete three more top signings this summer.

The three positions Tottenham will strenthen next

The Times have claimed that Spurs want to add another central midfielder to the squad after securing a deal for Fernandes.

The outlet confirms that the Lilywhites are continuing to vie for Sandro Tonali, with the pursuit unaffected by the deal for the West Ham man.

However, they would have to break their transfer record once again for the Italy internaitonal, who is valued by Newcastle United at close to £100m.

Additionally, it is revealed that Spurs also want to add two more attackers to their squad before the start of the new campaign, including a left-winger.

Which attackers will Spurs turn to?

Tottenham have prioritised Premier League-proven players this summer, and one would expect that trend to continue with their other pursuits.

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Spurs are confident of striking a £60m deal with Man City for Savinho, but the speculation linking the Brazilian with a move to N17 has now gone quiet.

Over recent days, reports have suggested that his Man City teammate, Omar Marmoush, and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo have now emerged as targets for Tottenham.
