Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements appears to be gathering pace, with fresh claims suggesting Spurs are now increasingly confident of finally landing Savinho.

Spurs Web has since relayed Fabrizio Romano’s report claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are set for a hectic summer transfer window.

It is not entirely surprising to hear that, given the abysmal Premier League campaign Spurs endured last season, where they found themselves at risk of relegation and needed a final-day victory over Everton to secure their top-flight status.

So far, in response to that debacle, Tottenham have completed the signings of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, although there remains an expectation that more arrivals could follow.

Tottenham confident of landing Savinho in £60m transfer

Spurs Web has since reported that Tottenham remain interested in signing Savinho from Manchester City.

Spurs missed out last summer after Pep Guardiola blocked a move for the 22-year-old, but interest has now been rekindled, although no offer has yet been made.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are accelerating plans to strengthen their squad, and Savinho remains firmly on their radar.

Spurs Web also reported that a £10m discount could be on offer this summer as Spurs continue their pursuit of Savinho, having previously been willing to submit a £70m bid.

Football Insider now claims that a £60m offer is likely to be enough to get a deal over the line, with Spurs growing in confidence that the winger will arrive in north London in the near future.

Discussing the situation, Pete O’Rourke said: “There is a strong chance now that this deal will finally go through for Tottenham to land Savinho this summer.

“Tottenham are expected to formalise their interest in the Brazilian with an offer in the coming weeks.

“He is a top target for them and has remained so since last summer, when they came very close to signing him.

“Manchester City would not stand in his way if they receive a good offer for the winger. At around £60 million, they would be happy to let him move on to Tottenham.

“Even though he ended up staying at City last year, he found first-team chances hard to come by with just seven Premier League starts under Pep Guardiola.

“If City strengthen their squad with further signings, it could push Savinho further down the pecking order.

“I would expect things to move on this one sooner rather than later and Tottenham are pretty confident they can get a deal done for Savinho this time.”

Spurs need more depth out wide

Agreeing personal terms with Savinho should not prove too difficult for Spurs, as reports claim the winger is open to a move this summer.

Manchester City are also said to be open to selling Savinho, which could make negotiations easier between the two clubs.

Tottenham do need extra depth out wide, especially with Randal Kolo Muani’s loan set to expire later this summer.
