Tottenham’s top 5 players over the last 10 years

In the last decade, Tottenham Hotspur have gone from strength to strength in the Premier League, and are now without a doubt one of the biggest clubs in the division.

A first top four finish, a first taste of Champions League, a first quarter-final in that prestigious tournament, so many leaps and bounds have been made by the latest crops of Lilywhites, especially under current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

But who are the best players to have graced the White Hart Lane pitch over the last ten years? Here are our top five.

Gareth Bale

No surprises there then. Gareth Bale is without a doubt one of the greatest players to have ever pulled on a Tottenham jersey, yet alone in the last ten years.
His pace, power, long shots and trickery made him one of the top players in Europe during his last few seasons at Spurs.
Tottenham signed bale for £7m in 2007, but the young Welshman was anything but an instant success in North London.
The Lilywhites failed to register a win in any of Bale's first 24 appearances for the club, and rumours had it that they were tempted to sell the left-back to Birmingham for just £3m.
It's funny how things can change so quickly, as Bale eventually transformed from a jinx of a full-back to a world class attacking winger, making 146 League appearances for Spurs, scoring a massive 42 goals.
Bale would eventually move to Real Madrid in 2013 to fulfil his potential on the grandest of stages, and has followed up this decision by winning four Champions League winner's medals.
