Tottenham’s top 5 players over the last 10 years

In the last decade, Tottenham Hotspur have gone from strength to strength in the Premier League, and are now without a doubt one of the biggest clubs in the division.

A first top four finish, a first taste of Champions League, a first quarter-final in that prestigious tournament, so many leaps and bounds have been made by the latest crops of Lilywhites, especially under current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

But who are the best players to have graced the White Hart Lane pitch over the last ten years? Here are our top five.

Ledley King

Those two words should be enough.
Captain, leader, legend.
Ledley King broke through the ranks in the Tottenham academy, eventually making his debut in 1999 against Liverpool at Anfield.
During his first season, King was often used as a midfielder, but centre-back is where he would eventually earn his name in a Tottenham shirt.
Despite his abundance of talent, ability to read the game, and defensive prowess, King's career was unfortunately always overshadowed by his reoccurring knee injuries.
These injuries would plague him for the entirety of his career, limiting him to 321 appearances, a relatively low number for 14 season's worth of service.
King was capped 21 times for England, scoring 2 goals to add to his 15 for Spurs. The centre-back also appeared at a European Championships and a World Cup for his country.
Ledley still actually holds the record for the fastest ever Premier League goal, despite Eriksen pushing him close last season. King scored against Bradford City in 2000 after just 10 seconds.
