Xavi Simons has big ambitions at Tottenham Hotspur despite things not going to plan for him in his first season at the club.
Xavi arrived at Spurs with a big reputation, but failed to hit the ground running in the Premier League, and the 22-year-old certainly was not helped by the fact that he was playing in a struggling side.
The Dutchman showcased his quality in the early days under Roberto De Zerbi, but suffered an ACL injury in April, which ended his campaign early and put him out of the World Cup.
Xavi is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the calendar year, but the attacking midfielder remains upbeat about his future despite the setback.

Xavi Simons wants to win trophies at Tottenham
The 22-year-old Spurs star has been working hard to recover as quickly as possible, having shared some positive updates on social media about his rehabilitation.
Xavi has now made an exciting admission on Snapchat, insisting that he has his eyes firmly set on winning silverware with Tottenham during the coming years.
In response to a question from a Spurs fan about his ambition for next season, the former RB Leipzig man responded: “With hard work, everything will come. The goal is winning trophies with my club for sure, and we will achieve that one day.”
Xavi is loving life under Roberto De Zerbi
Back in April, De Zerbi revealed he has a special connection with Xavi since he was also a number 10 during his playing days.
In an interview with CBS Golazo last week, the Tottenham midfielder admitted that he is loving the freedom he gets in De Zerbi’s system.
The pair do appear to be a match made in heaven, but the Netherlands international may have work to do to win back his place in the Italian’s starting eleven as he is only expected to be available midway into next season.
