Tottenham fans have urged Spurs to turn their attention to alternative striker options following Eli Junior Kroupi’s injury blow amid ongoing transfer links.
Tottenham Hotspur remain in the market for a centre-forward as they continue to strengthen their squad this summer ahead of next season.
On their radar as their number one target for the striker position is Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth, who had a respectable first season in the Premier League last term with the Cherries.
The Frenchman managed 13 goals last campaign for Bournemouth, a performance that has seen him pop up on the radar of several clubs in Europe.
Spurs were reported to be preparing a mammoth offer for Kroupi as they looked to win their four-way tussle, with the likes of PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City also keeping tabs.
In fact, some say Tottenham were planning to bid £80m+ plus for Kroupi in the next 24 hours before news of a long-term injury broke.

However, Tottenham look to have hit a setback in their pursuit of Kroupi, with the forward picking up a long-term injury that will keep him out for 3-4 months.
It was revealed earlier this week that Kroupi hurt his foot while away for pre-season and, following surgery, is expected to be out for three to four months.
That would see the 20-year-old miss the early parts of Spurs’ campaign should they opt to sign him this summer.
With the latest setback, Tottenham certainly have a decision to make regarding whether they push to sign Kroupi this summer or whether to make a move in the winter window or next summer.
Tottenham fans have now shared their reaction to the latest Kroupi injury blow, with many asking their club to turn to other alternative options.
One fan said: “3-4 months… Spurs curse already happening.”
Another then called for the forward to be signed in the winter, commenting: “See you in January, Jr.”
A third was left baffled at the lack of alternative options, stating: “Maybe we can move on now. I cannot believe we do not have other targets and no one credible ever reported a deal was likely.”
Another fan questioned: “Next summer it is then, right?”
One more supporter was convinced the reports were good news as he believed they could spend the fee for Kroupi elsewhere: “This is good news @SpursOfficial. For the same price we can sign @AlexScott_7 and a proper 9 who can actually hold the ball up. Guirassy, Balogun or Brobbey for me.”
Another simply was happy Spurs did not move too soon: “His fifth one btw. We dodged a bullet with this injury-prone one-season wonder.”
One more fan named Vlahovic as the next best option: “Vlahovic is the only logical option for Spurs I think.”
Calls for Scott to be signed kept coming in, with a fan writing: “Can we throw the bag at Scott then now PLEASEE.” While a final fan added: “Ferran Torres does not cost as much and is just as good.”
Spurs must act quickly in striker search
Tottenham really cannot afford to wait for much longer in their pursuit of a forward this summer transfer window. Doing so will be a huge risk given that Spurs’ current options in the centre-forward position are injury-prone.
Dominic Solanke, since securing a move from Bournemouth, has barely had an injury-free season, while Richarlison’s injury record is equally as bad.
There is also talk of Richarlison potentially being sold and, should that move happen, Spurs will be left with Solanke as their main number nine option following the sale of Will Lankshear.
Tottenham will have to turn to other alternatives this summer, with reports claiming that Roberto De Zerbi is a big fan of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush.
