Tottenham Hotspur are holding talks with Manchester City over a double deal for Savinho and Omar Marmoush, but the deal will not be easy for the Lilywhites to pull off.

While it has been an open secret since the start of the summer that Spurs and Man City are holding talks over Savinho, it emerged on Wednesday that the Brazilian is not the only player the two clubs are discussing.

David Ornstein revealed that Tottenham are working on a double deal for the 22-year-old winger and his Man City teammate Omar Marmoush.

The Athletic journalist revealed that talks are advancing over the pair, which has led to a lot of excitement among Spurs fans, but it has now emerged that a deal may not be easy to pull off.

Man City do not want to sell Omar Marmoush to Tottenham

Football Insider now reports that the Manchester club have no intention of selling Marmoush at this stage of the transfer window.

While the Egyptian is said to be a long-term target for Spurs, it is explained that a deal to bring him to N17 will be ‘difficult’ for them to complete.

Enzo Maresca currently feels that his squad is short in attacking areas and he does not want to lose a quality backup like Marmoush.

The report adds that it would take a ‘huge fee’ to prise the 27-year-old away from the Etihad Stadium. It is pointed out that the forward is also on a very lucrative deal in Manchester.

Marmoush wants regular football

The former Eintracht Frankfurt man has found game time hard to come by, finding himself below Erling Haaland in the pecking order at City.

Marmoush is thus said to be keen to ensure that he is playing regular football this season, but he is yet to decide that he wants to push for a move away from the club.

However, despite the forward’s desire for a more regular role, City are not expected to sell him without having a top-quality replacement lined up.
