The long wait for the return of competitive football is set to end later this month, with the Premier League now just two weeks away from kicking off.

Spurs begin their league campaign with a trip to Brentford at the Gtech Stadium, and Roberto De Zerbi will be hoping to get off to a winning start.

However, immediately after their opening Premier League fixture of the 2026-27 season, Tottenham will turn their attention to another competition entirely – the Carabao Cup.

Spurs were knocked out of the competition in the fourth round last season by Newcastle United and, after their 17th-place finish in the Premier League, they are set to begin their Carabao Cup campaign in the second round.

When is the Tottenham Carabao Cup second-round draw?

The Carabao Cup second-round draw will be held on Monday 10 August and will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event during the broadcast of Plymouth Argyle vs Exeter City – the final first-round fixture.

The draw is scheduled to take place during the build-up to the match at approximately 7:20pm BST.

Which Premier League clubs join Tottenham in the second round?

Eight Premier League clubs will enter the competition at the second-round stage:

• Brentford
• Chelsea
• Everton
• Fulham
• Leeds United
• Newcastle United
• Nottingham Forest
• Tottenham Hotspur

The second round of the Carabao Cup remains split regionally, meaning Tottenham will only be drawn against other teams in the southern half.
