    Next Spurs Manager Poll ...

I think Rogers is best option for club and squad if they could get him but I doubt they could or if he’s even want the job. Why would he leave Leicester and cl football for spurs? that leaves me to pick the Ajax manager, they’ve similar philosophy and I think we could get him providing other big clubs don’t get him first. It would still be risk, tbh spurs won’t succeed on pitch until levy walks or throws money at the squad. All the false dawns and near misses are boring now
  2. I think we could all do with cheering up. maybe Bale will play his best game and be unplayable. I’m normally very pessimistic and everything logically says we will lose hence my two predictions but if we just go for it Ossie Ardiles style.... I just want to be entertained. None of this sit back defend defend bollox and still bloody lose. Go out on our shields, we’ve got nothing to lose.
  3. Mason has no time nor the experience to implement any kind of meaningful tactical plan IMO. he should keep it simple, get the confidence up and pick our best attacking players with couple of DM to protect defence. We just need to attack them in numbers, their defence isn’t great so we might get lucky. Similar to how the CL game went couple years back I think. highly likely we will take a hammering but if we go at them and our players are free to be creative we could make a great end to end game. im thinking spurs 3 - 5 city if we go for it. if we try and defend and play counter attack then spurs 1 - 4 city. I’ve got a little feeling it’s going to be classic with goals flying in everywhere. Won’t mind losing if that is the case!

PL SPURS Vs Southampton Wed 21st April 18:00 K.O.

We are a pretty awful team. Cant judge on this game only, we’ve been shite all season from what I’ve seen. Need some leaders and Levy has not paid enough attention to this squad.

Jose has coached all the talent and confidence out of this team. First game I’ve watched for a bit and we are very 2nd best at moment. big rebuilding job!

    European Super league

Yeah there was hardly any contrition in there at all. I think DL has done a great job with the stadium and training ground and also he has overseen a period of top 4 finishes, so he’s been good in that sense. however this whole shambles is a serious lapse in judgement, as was not being loyal to poch and giving him more funds in transfer market. It’s not going to change my life either way but I do hope ENIC and Levy need to sell up. ENIC are just looking for profit and levy should fall on his sword over the disgraceful superleague issue. I’d hoped we’d be first to jump out but it seems that city and Chelsea beat us to the punch. In some ways as Levy is the only British owner amongst them he really should have known better. his statement hasn’t gone anywhere near far enough, he should have been begging for a chance to regain fans trust and admit it was a serious lapse in judgment. greed, it will destroy the world and the haves will always try and screw over the have nots. Better to go support a local team I think, top level football is broken.

    European Super league

As I said, and many others, as soon as I heard the proposal, it was never ever going to happen. They’ve all disgraced themselves and those clubs reputations will be tarnished by greed and/or stupidity of a few men. I think DL should seriously consider his position but then again we’re hugely in debt so that might make matters worse.

    European Super league

Yep, it will all collapse I’m sure and all this will have been for nothing. Dragged the clubs name through the mud for an ill conceived, badly judged proposal. Will forever be tarnished as one of the six. what a shambles!

    European Super league

Everton released a powerful statement. do we really want spurs to go down this route and split football world like this? if we were one of the 14 (or any club outside of the ‘6’) I’d be saying exactly the same as them, it’s shameful time to announce these plans given how all of football has been impacted. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56813819 It is enticing to think spurs could be part of a euro super league but we don’t merit it and the format is wrong! the clubs reputation will be tarnished forever by this, and if the super league fails what happens then? I can’t imagine the club would be allowed back into the premier league! If I was the league I would kick the 6 clubs out of all competitions so that they would just have the super league fixtures. You can’t have your cake and eat it

    European Super league

Valid points but nothing gives that fan the right for vitriol he directed towards Cantona or any player receives for that matter. My point is that guy/fan/yob was a moron and I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. Cantona being kicked to shit says it all, the fact that would be a risk says everything about some football fans. Of course Eric shouldn’t have reacted but that prat/palace fan deserved everything he got. Don’t need fans like that. Cantona served his ban, maybe he got off lightly, maybe he didn’t. It wasn’t the best kick from memory

Tbf that pratt in the crowd that day deserved to be kung fu kicked by Eric, shame he didn’t knock him out really.

    European Super league

Jay I read somewhere that they would need approval of rest of premier league unless they actually leave the premier league. So it may only happen if they leave the premier league completely. I really can’t see it happening with this level of opposition, they may even bring in legislation to prevent it. Don’t get me wrong the money would save us but this is a sneaky move to do, it’s not the right thing to do. I mean football is hardly fair and fair play financial rules are a joke etc but creating a semi closed competition is low. We’re only there because of how Levy has built value of club without actually winning anything. having said all this if we could play in a league without West Ham I’d be happy, although I hear they would be one of the 5 clubs that could be invited in.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-56810962 There is a wall of opposition to this proposal.

    European Super league

Whilst agree that they’re hard nosed businessmen and have top legal council they will face stiff opposition across Europe and governments and UEFA/FIFA will come together. I expect sone concessions will be made regards tv money from uefa for CL/EL, there is too much opposition for this super league to fly as they intended. I would expect current players to speak out over coming days and divide to formalise. Levy is treading a very fine line and he’s doing it without consent.
  16. Dazza1976

    Mou sacked

That’s my point. I don’t think it will go ahead, i think it will be cut off at the knees. Spurs will be left with their debt and reputation in tatters. I hope I’m wrong but it is real risk. This super league is a land grab and smacks of capitalism at its worst. Football is truly dead.
  17. Dazza1976

    European Super league

I’d be amazed if this doesn’t get blocked at government level, they will clamp down on the clubs in the so called super league. Yes I’m sure many spurs fans like the idea of 2-3 billion when we are so in debt but it smacks of greed and it’s not a fair competition. football died a long time ago, this feels like another death. Don’t get me wrong I would love to see spurs do well but they won’t win this new super league. again I think the reaction tells you everything you need to know, I cannot see this Super league happening.
  18. Dazza1976

    Mou sacked

I suspect Jose anticipated how the news of the EPL would be received and engineered his own sacking by kicking off. That would be his modus operandi and suggests that there is something in his contract that prevents him getting paid out anyway. He ha enough money and can leverage the fact he stood up for little guys. Football and the people that run it sold out years ago but this is a new low. We’re in a sticky situation now with stadium to pay for and I see trouble ahead, the vultures will be circling spurs
  19. Dazza1976

    European Super league

I don’t see how this super league will ever happen, the clubs will be like pariahs and it’s a bit of a joke that we would be in it when we can’t even win the worthless cup in our own league. I understand that levy doesn’t want to be on the outside looking in but could these corporate wankers of all clubs involved not see how it would be blocked? Now just more ridicule and shame for tottenham to be part of it. capitalism, it’s a crooked system rife with corruption and backhanders. the rich get richer and the poor masses are left to fend for themselves. Wankers!

Roy Keane remarks on Spurs 'softness'...

Spurs do have reputation for softness, hence the whole “spursy” adjective that has come about in recent years. It’s a history of choking at key moments, so many near misses etc. Coupled with the perception that Spurs fans are too cocky when they have nothing to crow about. Fans of other teams love to knock tottenham, in London I’d say we are universally disliked, or hated in West Ham and Chelsea’s case which to be honest I feel is largely down to the perception that Spurs is a Jewish club and so there is the anti-Semitic influence on the overall narrative that spurs are chokers and bottlers. The use by some of our fans of the Y word, whilst borne out of good intentions, is an issue, it empowers fans of other clubs (and some pundits) to bring the racial aspect of their hate and fuels their energy for knocking the club any way they can. Question for another post I know but I do feel this feeds into the whole “let’s knock spurs” whether it be spursy, or for spurs fans “arrogance” etc. For me the club has an image problem which I think to be fair to Levy he was trying to address when he got Mouriniho in, ie just get trophies in the cabinet. What is lost in the whole “they’re” soft rhetoric is how we are punching above our weight on net spend. What levy fails to realise is that we need to have a big investment in top players and wages to match. The only way tottenham are going to shake this image problem and actually win stuff is with obscenely rich owners who are willing to throw money at it. That’s not knocking Mr Lewis or Levy/ENIC, structurally and financially they have grown the club brilliantly off the pitch but the image problem is a yoke around the clubs neck. Just the fact that the club goes on about the magnificent stadium and training facilities (they are superb tbf) without seemingly spending the same on the playing staff engenders a club that is all about show and no substance with other fans and media. For me it’s a classic case of “it’s the hope that kills you”. As I grow older the arbitrary nature and faux tribalism of fandom is increasingly apparent to me, football really brings out the worst in people when they latch on to perceptions and silly inter club rivalries. If it dictates how you view or behave towards people then there is something wrong with you mentally, that’s my view. long rant to say yes there is a perceived softness to tottenham over the years, some justified, some unfair, lots of contributing factors to why and what fuels it. if you got this far, well done, you’ve reached the end.

If Kane Asks To Leave This Summer......

Kane has done as much as he can, he will not win anything of note at spurs and should leave. He’d have most fans blessing I think, if spurs had pots of money to spend and had built a better team around him great. In hindsight Levy was wrong to blame the malaise of 2019-20 campaign on Poch and has royally fucked up getting Jose in. Kane and the players will realise this and he won’t be the only one looking to leave. such a shame with the squads we’ve had and all the those top 4 finishes spurs couldn’t push that last bit and make some top signings rather than keep relying on promising players. I can’t see tottenham being regular top 4 now for a while unless they go crazy in transfer market and get decent manager in that plays to the squads strengths. Jose has wasted all the attacking talent at his disposal. Good luck Harry, I hope it’s not to another English club but fear it will be City. As for Aguero as replacement, he’s only going to get worse and pick up more injuries. Plus can’t see Jose even playing him. I actually think levy will refuse to sell and make him unhappy. That’s my gut feeling.
  22. Dazza1976

Is Harry Planning To Leave ?

Cannot see the team getting top 6 let alone top 4 tbh. Playing terribly and if I was Kane I’d be desperate to leave. It’s time to support local community team I think.

"Mourinho Next For The Sack" Odds Tumble to 13/10

I love Ledley king but he’s not going to cut it as a manager. agree Jose will be laughing with his pay off. And everyone else will be laughing at spurs. I’ve no idea who they would get but honestly as a caretaker manager they might as well shove redknapp in until the end of the season. He’s ancient but there’s no time to work on anything major tactically so he might just get them playing on the front foot. it needs to be an experienced manager who’s used to playing attacking football. None of this park the bus bollox which doesn’t seem to work in current climate.

"Mourinho Next For The Sack" Odds Tumble to 13/10

He has to go, I was all for giving Jose a chance but it is clear to me he doesn’t have the changing room. With this squad they should have been coached for possession, pressing and front foot. I’m not sure what happened with poch, maybe the players lost faith and stopped trying 100% but with jose I feel like he has lost the players. I have to caveat this by saying I barely watch full games now and I mostly read and watch snippets, I can usually tell when the performance will be insipid and switch off. Have my younger brother who is brilliant armchair analyst and even he thinks Jose has to go. it was ballsy move by levy to chop Poch but in hindsight I think we’ve regressed even more. Such a waste of attacking talent, granted we have not got best defence but this season performances have been absolutely dire from what I’ve seen. no idea who to get in either, but honestly I’d be amazed if Kane and Jose are there after this season. Re Kane I hope he goes somewhere and wins the trophies his work rate and talent merit. Football club fandom, it really is a mugs game tbh.

EPL Dinamo Zagreb Vs SPURS 18th March 17:55 K.O.

Just checked the result but before I did a thought to myself “I bet spurs have blown it” and that says it all. they are a bunch of bottlers, the “spursy” tag will never be lost unless they win a few trophies and I can’t see that happening without heavy heavy investment but tottenham don’t have the cash to spend. I think levy has done an amazing job with the stadium but I hope he gets rid of Jose after the cup final. He’s not the right fit for the club and they will be mocked even more “not even Jose could win with Spurs”. if I ever have a son he won’t support spurs. I’ll bring him up neutral. It’s pointless tying your mast to club. I’ll definitely make sure my nephew avoids football fandom! hope Kane goes abroad.
