Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham has reflected on the business the club have done this summer and the next steps for the club.
After the final game of last season against Everton, De Zerbi made it clear that the squad needs a major overhaul to ensure Tottenham never find themselves in the same position as they did last campaign.
The club’s hierarchy has certainly delivered on the manager’s demands, with Spurs bringing 10 first-team players through the door, while selling an even bigger number.
The Lilywhites have managed to complete an entire squad rebuild in one window, leaving De Zerbi with the challenge of fitting together different pieces of the jigsaw on the pitch.

The Spurs CEO has confessed that the volume of business the club have done this summer has required around-the-clock work from officials across all departments at the club.
Venkatesham admitted that Tottenham are going through a period of major transition and hailed the people working behind the scenes for working through weekends and bank holidays to achieve the vision that was set out at the start of the summer.
He wrote on LinkedIn: “Transfer windows are always busy periods at a football club, but this one has been on a different scale at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Across our Men’s First Team alone, we have delivered well over 30 transactions.
“This is a huge number of incoming transfers, outgoing moves and contract renewals across a 78-day window. But that number only tells part of the story. Behind every announcement are months of scouting, analysis and planning, alongside negotiations, financial modelling, contracts, medicals, registrations, welcoming new players and their families, logistics, communications and countless other details.
“Beyond the Men’s squad, this has been a period of enormous change across Tottenham Hotspur. We have also completed a strong Women’s transfer window with our incoming business finished ahead of pre-season and continued to invest in high-potential young players as we deepen the talent pipeline through our Academy. Beyond that work, we have reshaped systems, standards and structures inside our training centre. The workload across the Club has been immense, and the effort has been extraordinary.
“I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has played a part. Our football leadership, recruitment and performance teams, coaches, medical and player-care colleagues, legal, finance, operations, comms & content departments, and the many other people across the Club who have made this possible. Many colleagues have given up evenings, weekends, bank holidays and plenty of sleep to deliver what we set out to achieve.”

The new project at Tottenham has not got off to the best of starts, with the club yet to pick up a point after their first two league games.
Vinai Venkatesham confessed that the work in the transfer window does not guarantee results, but he expressed the commitment of everyone at the club to deliver the kind of performances on the pitch that fans expect.
He added: “We know that a transfer window does not win football matches. The responsibility now is to work hard together and deliver performances that supporters can be proud of. This summer has represented a significant step in the evolution of Tottenham Hotspur and a clear demonstration of our ambition for the future. Thank you to everyone who has helped make it happen.”
