Agent reveals Tottenham are impressed with player who is ‘training exceptionally well’

Radu Dragusin’s agent has revealed that those inside Tottenham Hotspur have been pleased with the defender’s application in training.

The Romanian international joined Tottenham from Serie A side Genoa in the January transfer window for  £26.7m after choosing to sign for the Premier League outfit ahead of Bayern Munich (Sky Sports).

Dragusin has seen limited game time since his move to Tottenham with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven having forged an impressive partnership at the heart of Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The 22-year-old was brought off the bench in Tottenham’s 4-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday after van de Ven suffered a hamstring injury in the opening stages of the second half.

Dragusin has played just eight minutes across three appearances for Spurs prior to his outing at Villa Park and could not be set for an extended stay in the starting eleven in light of van de Ven‘s injury.

Tottenham are next in action on Saturday evening when they make the short trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Radu Dragusin impressed against Aston Villa

His agent Florin Manea has provided a positive update on Dragusin’s start to life as a member of the Tottenham first team squad.

He told Romanian news outlet Fanatik: “They had a well-laid plan. He had to wait his turn and help his team. It was natural, because the two centre-backs played very well together and it was hard to take them out. From one point of view, it wasn’t normal to take them out.

“I was talking to someone at the club and he told me he’s training exceptionally well. You can’t blame him. Training is like a match for Radu. That’s what we’ve been aiming for for years. The way you train is the way you play.”

Dragusin looked assured at the back against Villa who on more than one occasion used their long-ball tactic to try to turn the Spurs defenders towards their own goal.

Pace does not look to be an issue for the Romanian who comfortably made up the ground and showed good composure under pressure to find a team-mate.
