Alejo Veliz has addressed the media after officially sealing his switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Brazilian club Bahia.
Tottenham’s attempts to sell Veliz to Bahia in January collapsed as the club was unable to terminate the striker’s loan spell with Rosario Central prematurely.
However, just after the closure of the January window, Bahia reached an agreement with Spurs on a €9m (£7.8m) deal for the striker, and it was confirmed that he would have his medical in the summer before finalising his move.
Veliz signed off from Rosario Central in perfect fashion with a goal in his final game for the club, and he has now spoken after completing the move to Brazil.

Tottenham forward Alejo Veliz admits decision to leave Rosario Central was difficult
The 22-year-old has now completed the formalities and officially sealed his switch to Bahia.
That means that Tottenham’s coffers have been boosted and the centre-forward is officially no longer part of the North London club’s books.
On completing the move, Veliz confessed that leaving Rosario was not easy, but explained that he sees the move to Brazilian football as the ideal one for his career as well as his family.
The Argentine said on signing for Bahia (via Globo Esporte): “I am very happy with this step in my career, arriving at this club. I am very emotional about leaving Rosario Central because that is my home and my family.
“We made this decision because I want to grow my career somewhere else. It was the best decision we made as a family. I watched the fans a lot. I also watched the recent matches. It is incredible. I hope I can give back a little of what they do.”
Why Spurs will be rooting for Veliz to succeed at Bahia
It was previously reported by Football.London that Tottenham have retained a 20 per cent sell-on clause for Veliz in their deal with Bahia.
That means that the Lilywhites will benefit financially from any future transfer for the 22-year-old, who is looking to get his career back on track after his disappointing spell in Europe.
The Spurs decision-makers will be hoping that the Argentine striker returns to Europe in the future, as that will represent a sizable payday for the North Londoners.
