Barcelona have now taken a significant step in their pursuit of Luka Vuskovic after Tottenham Hotspur opened talks over a lucrative new deal for the teenager.
Luka Vuskovic remains a highly sought-after talent heading into the summer transfer window following his impressive displays while on loan at HSV Hamburg.
The teenager’s standout performances in the Bundesliga, where he has emerged as one of the players of the season in Germany, have caught the attention of several top clubs.
Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are among the sides keen on securing the signature of the on-loan Spurs defender.

Barcelona hold talks with Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic representative
Spurs Web recently reported that Tottenham are looking to secure Vuskovic’s future and are now prepared to offer the defender a bumper new deal.
While fans of the Lilywhites are excited by the prospect of a new deal for Vuskovic, there have also been concerns regarding the involvement of Johan Lange in the contract talks. There has been no further update on how the talks have progressed so far.
According to Sky Deutschland, Barcelona remains keen on Luka Vuskovic as they look to strengthen defensively ahead of next season.
Hansi Flick’s side is also considering other targets, with Alessandro Bastoni viewed as their first-choice option, while Cristian Romero is another player on Barcelona’s shortlist.
That leaves some uncertainty over where Vuskovic currently sits in the club’s pecking order heading into the summer. However, it has not stopped Barcelona from holding initial talks with his representatives.
Vuskovic’s agent, Pini Zahavi, also represents both Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick.
Spurs still hope to keep Luka Vuskovic
The teenager has only just returned from injury and recently made an appearance off the bench in Hamburg’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
It is well known that Vuskovic wants to play alongside his brother, who is also at Hamburg but is currently serving a doping ban until November.
Remaining at Hamburg could help fulfil that ambition, with the Bundesliga side also keen on extending his loan stay. However, Vuskovic has refused to discuss a summer exit from Tottenham, insisting he will return to Spurs at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen whether the situation will work in Tottenham’s favour as they continue their fight to avoid relegation. Should Vuskovic eventually decide to leave north London, Spurs would likely demand a significant fee for one of their brightest young talents.
