Tottenham Hotspur have seen one rival Marcus Rashford suitor fall out of the race this week, despite pushing hard to land the Man United man.
Tottenham have been described as the most concrete suitor for Rashford, whose future remains up in the air.
Some sources have claimed that Spurs are willing to match the forward’s bumper Man United salary to attract him to North London ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that the Red Devils want to offload Rashford before he is due to return for pre-season at the start of August.

Fenerbahce were keen on beating Tottenham to Marcus Rashford
Turkish outlet Fanatik claimed this week that the England international had emerged as a shock target for Fenerbahce, who are looking to bolster their forward line ahead of the new season.
The outlet claimed that the Turkish club were set to ‘officially begin negotiations’ with Man United for Rashford.
In fact, it was asserted that the Yellow Canaries wanted to reach an agreement with United over their academy graduate ‘as soon as possible’ to get ahead of the competition.
Fenerbahce were ready to accelerate talks with Rashford if they could first hammer out an agreement with Michael Carrick’s side. But there is a problem…
Rashford does not want to move to Turkey
However, Fabrizio Romano has taken to social media to dismiss the speculation linking the 28-year-old with a move to Istanbul.
The journalist claimed that Rashford has no intention of moving to Turkish football this summer and will only leave Old Trafford for a ‘top club’.
Romano said on X: “Marcus Rashford has zero plans to move to Turkey this summer, zero talks with Fenerbahce. He’s returning for pre-season at Man Utd as Carrick wants to work with him. Rashford can still leave MUFC but only in case of top club bid.”
