Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in a deal for Marcus Rashford, and the England international’s next destination could be decided very shortly.

Since the start of the summer, several outlets have reported that Tottenham have been exploring a move for Rashford, who is seeking to leave Old Trafford after spending last season on loan at Barcelona.

Barca’s purchase option on the England international has expired, and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly prepared to offer the forward a lucrative deal to tempt him to London.

Some sources say that Spurs are willing to hand the Man United man a £325,000-a-week contract, which would comfortably make him the highest-paid player in the squad, beating out the £250k per week that new signing Sandro Tonali is on.

Man United are in a race against time to sell Tottenham target Marcus Rashford

The Sun have now revealed that United are looking to finalise the sale of the forward before their pre-season training camp in Dublin begins next month.

The Red Devils are set to fly to Ireland on August 8, where they will play PSG in their fourth friendly of the summer, and their pre-season training camp in Dublin will begin the next day, as every World Cup participant will return by then.

United want to agree a deal to sell Rashford before he is due back at the club for the start of that training camp.

That has effectively given Michael Carrick’s men just three more weeks to complete the sale, which means that we can expect big developments on the forward’s future very soon.

Rashford is not keen on joining Spurs

The Sun say that United have no intention of loaning out the 28-year-old again for next season, and want to push through a permanent sale. In fact, they have already begun scouring the market for a replacement for Rashford.

The outlet names Tottenham as one of the interested clubs, but claims that the forward does not want to join a club outside the Champions League.

It was reported by The i Paper a little over a week ago that Rashford has decided against moving to another Premier League side this summer. It thus appears that Roberto De Zerbi’s men have work to do to convince the United academy graduate regarding a switch to N17.
