Brighton are not giving up on a deal for Luka Vuskovic, and one factor could aid the club in their pursuit of the Tottenham centre-back

Most Spurs fans will be aware that Tottenham turned down a £30m bid for Vuskovic, who excelled on loan at Hamburg last season.

The Croat, who is currently at the World Cup, faces an uncertain future at the North London club, who are continuing to add reinforcements in central defence.

It was reported a couple of days ago by Ben Jacobs that Spurs value the 19-year-old at £60m, but the Seagulls are continuing to press to land the youngster.

Brighton set to launch another offer as Luka Vuskovic is keen on leaving Tottenham

Football Insider have now revealed that the Seagulls have not had one, but two offers for the Tottenham man turned down, with their second offer being worth £30m.

Fabian Hurzeler’s men are now set to return with a third improved offer for Vuskovic, who has emerged as their ‘top target’.

The report says that even though Spurs are reluctant to sell the centre-back, there is a growing belief that the player is keen on a switch to the Amex Stadium.

While Tottenham rate Vuskovic extremely highly, he has an ‘immediate desire’ to play regularly at the highest level on the back of his loan spell at HSV.

Vuskovic deal is tied to Spurs’ pursuit of Jan Paul van Hecke

Football Insider say that talks are continuing between Brighton and Tottenham regarding Jan Paul van Hecke, with the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the Dutchman ‘closely tied’ to Vuskovic’s future.

After seeing their first two offers for the Netherlands international knocked back, the North Londoners are now facing the prospect of having to pay over £70m for the 25-year-old, who has just a year left on his contract.

The South Coast club have earmarked Vuskovic as the main candidate to step into the void left by Van Hecke’s departure if they do lose the former NAC Breda man.
