How much Tottenham would actually charge for Luka Vuskovic after Brighton see £30m bid rejected

Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed Tottenham’s valuation of Luka Vuskovic and the centre-back’s stance on his future after Brighton launched a surprise offer for the youngster.

Last week, Tottenham had received a £30m bid for Vuskovic from the Seagulls, who could lose Jan Paul van Hecke to the Lilywhites this summer.

It emerged the Croat had even verbally agreed terms with Brighton, but De Zerbi’s men immediately rejected the bid for the 19-year-old, who is currently at the World Cup.

Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe revealed that Brighton’s offer fell well short of Tottenham’s valuation of Vuskovic, who is rated by many as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe following his impressive loan spell at Hamburg last season.

Tottenham’s and Luka Vuskovic’s transfer stance revealed

Ben Jacobs has now revealed on the Last Word on Spurs that the North Londoners value Vuskovic at £60m, which is double what Fabian Hurzeler’s side offered.

The journalist revealed that while the teenager is not pushing to leave Tottenham, he is keen to ensure that he gets regular game time at the highest level next season.

Jacobs told the Last Word on Spurs: “Tottenham are not inclined to sell and rate Vuskovic highly. The valuation Spurs has is £60m, and Brighton offered £30m, which was rejected.”

“Vuskovic isn’t pushing to leave; he wants game time or to go, unless he gets a Premier League loan to Brighton with a guarantee to come back and play next season.”

Could Vuskovic be part of Spurs’ deal for Jan Paul van Hecke?

Spurs are expecting to agree a £60m deal for Jan Paul Van Hecke after their opening two bids for the 25-year-old were turned down by Brighton.

Some have suggested that Van Hecke’s arrival could mean that Vuskovic is loaned out again next season so that he can continue getting regular game time under his belt.

One wonders if Tottenham could offer the former Hajduk Split man on loan to the Seagulls as part of the Van Hecke deal to bring down the cost of the operation.
