Brighton are continuing to work on a deal to sign Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham even though the Lilywhites have put a huge price tag on the teenager.
The Seagulls have already seen two offers for Vuskovic turned down by Tottenham, with their second one reaching just £30m.
Spurs have no intention of selling at Brighton’s proposed valuation, especially after the way the 19-year-old performed on loan at HSV last season, where he established a reputation as one of the best young defenders in the world.
Interestingly, sources have claimed that the Seagulls have agreed personal terms with Vuskovic, who is currently preparing for Croatia’s World Cup opener against England this evening.

Football Insider have now backed up what other sources have reported regarding Spurs’ valuation of the Croat, claiming that the Lilywhites want double what Brighton have offered for the centre-back.
It is revealed that Tottenham have asked the South Coast club to pay £60m for Vuskovic and are ‘trying to drive the price up’ as much as possible.
However, Brighton have no intention of paying £60m for the Spurs starlet as they see it as being ‘too far-fetched’.
Fabian Hurzeler’s men are working to strike a ‘compromise’ with the North London club regarding Vuskovic, and are hoping to agree a ‘cut-price fee’ for the youngster.
What Vuskovic thinks about a move to Brighton
Football Insider say that while Tottenham continue to view the former Hajduk Split man as a ‘key part of their long-term plans’, the player’s camp have major doubts over the club’s vision for his development.
Ideally, Roberto De Zerbi’s men would like to keep Vuskovic at Hotspur Way, but Brighton are willing to offer the centre-back a quicker pathway to regular first-team football.
While the Tottenham defender has also been the subject of interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich over recent weeks, there is ‘a growing belief’ at Brighton that he would prefer to play his football at the Amex Stadium for the next stage of his career.
