Brighton are now making some big moves, which clearly demonstrates what they are thinking about a deal to land Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham.

A few days ago, it emerged that Brighton had submitted an improved £45m offer for the Spurs teenager after seeing their first two bids turned down by Tottenham.

However, even that is not expected to be enough to clinch the deal, with Spurs thought to be demanding in excess of £50m for Vuskovic.

Having been frustrated by Tottenham’s stance, it appears that the Seagulls have turned their attention elsewhere.

Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic may no longer be a priority for Brighton

According to reports, the Croat has already informed Tottenham that he wants to join Brighton, with the 19-year-old of the belief that the Amex Stadium would be the ideal platform for his development.

However, it appears that Fabian Hurzeler’s men have now turned their attention to other centre-back options as they continue to search for a replacement for Jan Paul van Hecke.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed on social media that Brighton have agreed a deal in principle with Leeds United for Pascal Struijk, while the South Coast club have also launched an offer for Atalanta centre-back Honest Ahanor.

Vuskovic has no shortage of admirers

While Brighton may have decided to turn to other targets, the Tottenham teenager is not short of interest following his outstanding loan spell at Hamburg last season.

It has been widely reported that Barcelona are fans of Vuskovic, although some sources suggest that the Spurs defender could prove too expensive for the Catalan club.

The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 19-year-old, who is currently at the World Cup.
