Tottenham Hotspur were said to be close to hijacking a Man City youth transfer, but Fabrizio Romano disagrees with those rumours.

Tottenham advancing on a deal for 16-year-old Heaven Kilwa
Tottenham insider Szyexcl revealed this week that Spurs were advancing in talks to sign talented left-winger Heaven Kilwa from the Villa academy.
The teenager initially looked set to complete a move to Manchester City, but Spurs leapfrogged the Manchester club to the front of the queue.
Szyexcl wrote on X: “Understand THFC are advancing in talks to sign highly-rated youngster Heaven Kilwa from Aston Villa. player was set to sign with Manchester City, but THFC is now favoured.”
However, just one day later, Fabrizio Romano reports that Man City have indeed won the race for Kilwa.
The Italian journalist wrote: ‘Manchester City have agreed deal for the Academy to sign 16-year-old winger Heaven Kilwa from Aston Villa. Kilwa has already signed paperwork at MCFC with PL 5 step process currently ongoing.’
Spurs working to appoint Borussia Dortmund’s talent ID guru
The North Londoners are continuing to make efforts to bolster their backroom staff in a bid to improve their ability to identify the best young talents from around the globe.
To this effect, Tottenham are now looking to raid Borussia Dortmund for their chief scout, Sebastian Krug, who is the man credited with a key role in signing the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham.
The Lilywhites are not the only Premier League side after Krug, with Newcastle also looking to hire the German scout.
