Crysencio Summerville transfer race: Roma have two advantages over Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are no longer the front-runners to land West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, who is expected to be on the move this summer.

While there has been a lot said and written about Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho, the Brazilian is not the only Premier League winger the Lilywhites are chasing.

Some reports have indicated over the last few days that Tottenham are ready to submit an offer for Summerville, who is expected to leave the Hammers following their relegation to the Championship.

It was previously reported that Roma may challenge Spurs for the West Ham winger, and the North Londoners have now been handed some bad news about the 24-year-old.

Why Roma are favourites to beat Tottenham to Crysencio Summerville

VoceGiallorossa now reports that after announcing Tony D’Amico as their sporting director, Roma are now ready to step up moves for their top summer targets.

That includes Summerville, who is currently training with the Netherlands squad ahead of the World Cup.

The report claims that the West Ham winger has already spoken to his international teammate, Donyell Malen, about ‘the possibility of choosing Roma over Tottenham Hotspur‘.

It is also revealed that Malen and Summerville share the same agent, which could potentially make things easier for the Giallorossi in their quest to land the former Leeds man.

Two other clubs are also eyeing Summerville

It is not just Roma that Tottenham have to worry about as they attempt to raid West Ham for one of their best attackers for the second summer in a row.

A few days ago, TEAMtalk claimed that Aston Villa and AC Milan could also challenge Spurs for Summerville’s signature.

The outlet added that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are willing to sell the Netherlands international for around £35m, as they go about making big changes to their squad after their relegation.
