The future of Lucas Bergvall continues to be the subject of much speculation as Tottenham take a hardline stance on the midfielder’s future.
Bergvall is reportedly seeking a fresh challenge after two seasons at Spurs, and over the past few weeks, the midfielder has repeatedly refused to confirm he is staying at Tottenham.
On Wednesday, The Telegraph were the first to report that while the 20-year-old’s preference may be to leave, the Lilywhites hierarchy have other plans.
The report claimed that Spurs had informed Bergvall’s suitors he is not for sale, and a new report has now revealed what the club have said to the midfielder.

Tottenham tell Lucas Bergvall he is not leaving this summer
Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge has now taken to social media to confirm that Bergvall has indeed requested a transfer away, as Nottingham Forest show ‘serious interest’ in the 20-year-old.
However, the journalist explained that the North London club have informed the youngster in no uncertain terms that he is staying put.
Bridge wrote on X: “Understand Lucas Bergvall has been told he’s not leaving Spurs. The 20-year-old midfielder had made the club aware of his desire to move on in search of a fresh start due to concerns over his first-team involvement. Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs that have a strong interest in the Sweden international, who has five years left on his deal.”
Michael Bridge suggests Spurs may be posturing on Bergvall
After providing the update, the Sky journalist provided his own opinion on Bergvall’s future and Tottenham’s transfer stance.
He suggested that the Lilywhites could change their tune and sell the Sweden internaitonal if a sizable offer comes their way.
In a follow-up tweet, Bridge added: “Worth adding (my opinion) if Spurs received a large offer for Bergvall they’d surely consider it. De Zerbi likes the player. Let’s see.”
