Roberto De Zerbi has revealed what he has noticed from Lucas Bergvall in training after the midfielder signed a new contract at Tottenham.
Despite starting just one of Tottenham’s three league games so far this season, Bergvall has committed himself to De Zerbi’s project by putting pen to paper on a new deal.
The announcement this morning from the club came out of nowhere, catching many people by surprise, with no journalists having caught a whiff of the contract talks between the player and the club.
The 20-year-old continues to be on the radar of other Premier League sides, which is why it comes as a big boost to Spurs to tie up a valuable asset.

Just last week, De Zerbi praised Bergvall’s effort in training, revealing that the youngster had shown him that he wants to stay at Tottenham.
The Italian has now praised the midfielder for his desire to keep improving and is confident that the Swede will get better and better over the coming months and years.
On Bergvall’s new contract, De Zerbi told the club’s official website: “Every day in training you can see Lucas’ desire to learn, improve and push himself to the highest level. Lucas is brave, he wants responsibility and has the personality to play in big moments.
“He also understands that development is a process and he has shown a fantastic attitude towards working on the areas of his game where he can become even better. I believe his best football is still ahead of him and we want to give Lucas the platform to reach his full potential.”

Tottenham sporting director, Johan Lange, not only spoke highly of the midfielder’s talent, but also his attitude and his character.
The Dane made it clear that the Lilywhites see the 20-year-old as being a key part of the club’s future.
