Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has provided an injury and fitness update on his squad ahead of Spurs’ Carabao Cup round‑two clash against Charlton Athletic.
Tottenham Hotspur‘s attention is set to turn swiftly to the Carabao Cup following a dismal Premier League opener last weekend.
Spurs suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium – a loss that leaves them second from bottom in the Premier League table.
Roberto De Zerbi, however, will be hoping for a positive reaction when his side takes to the field in round two of the Carabao Cup.

Roberto De Zerbi provides Tottenham squad fitness update ahead of Charlton Athletic clash
Ahead of the home match against Charlton Athletic, the Tottenham boss has now provided an update on the fitness of his squad.
The usual absentees, Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski, remain out and are not in contention for Wednesday.
Micky van de Ven, who picked up a slight knock during pre-season was also a doubt for the home game against Charlton Athletic, but there is good news on that front. The news is less bright on Maddison’s shoulder injury, though.
Pedro Porro will also be involved this midweek, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to build the World Cup winner’s fitness after his lack of involvement in pre-season.
Tottenham have only just announced the arrival of Savinho following his £85 million move from Manchester City, making him a potential option for the Spurs boss.
Speaking to football.london, Roberto De Zerbi has now revealed: “Micky van de Ven comes on the bench. Pedro Porro will be on the bench. Solanke is available to play.
“Savio I don’t know if he’s ready to play if everything is ok to play or on the bench. Great news to have Van de Ven and Pedro Porro.
“Kudus is not ready yet. Maddison suffered a small injury in the shoulder.”
