Roberto De Zerbi has revealed why he is so delighted to finally add £85m Savinho to his Tottenham Hotspur squad.
At long last, Spurs now have their first attacking signing of the summer window, with Savinho’s move to N17 now officially confirmed.
The Brazilian has taken up the number 17 shirt at Tottenham and will add some much-needed pace and ball-carrying ability to the Spurs frontline, which looked devoid of ideas in the opening game of the season at Brentford.
De Zerbi has maintained that he wants Spurs to sign their top attacking targets, and the Italian is delighted that the club have managed to get one of them through the door.

According to reports, Tottenham have paid £85m to Manchester City for the 22-year-old, and many eyebrows have been raised at that fee, given the winger’s meagre goal output at the Etihad Stadium.
However, De Zerbi is convinced that Savinho will be a game-changing signing for Spurs, backing him to add creativity and energy to his frontline.
On the completion of the Brazilian’s signing, the Italian told Tottenham’s official website: “Savio is a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.
“We’re very pleased to have him with us, and I’m looking forward to working with him, helping him continue to grow and seeing him bring his personality to the team.”
Johan Lange admits Savinho has been a long-term target for Spurs
It has been an open secret that Tottenham have chased Savinho for over 12 months, and the club’s sporting director, Johan Lange, has now confirmed that they have wanted the player for a long time.
The Dane believes that the former Girona man will excite the fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and expects him to develop even further under the watchful eyes of De Zerbi.
Lange said on the club’s latest addition: “Savio is someone who has been on our radar for a while, and I’m delighted that he is now a Tottenham Hotspur player.
