Everton were not only English club to ask Tottenham about late Richarlison deal

Tottenham’s Richarlison was also on the radar of another Premier League club after Everton failed with a late move in the transfer window.

Richarlison slammed his critics on social media after not being able to agree a move to Everton, with the striker insisting that he will not allow others to decide what is best for him.

While Trabzonspor have expressed interest in the Tottenham striker, and have until tomorrow to complete the deal, even that looks unlikely at the moment.

This is because the Turkish club have agreed a deal to sign Midtjylland striker Franculino Djú, thus limiting the Brazilian’s options for an exit from N17.

Aston Villa also expressed late interest in Tottenham striker Richarlison

ESPN Brazil have now revealed that the finances involved in the operation are why Richarlison’s proposed return to Everton fell through in the final days of the window.

The outlet claims that the Toffees were unwilling to meet either Tottenham Hotspur’s £30m asking price, nor were they willing to meet the striker’s wage demands.

Interestingly, the outlet revealed that Aston Villa also showed late interest in poaching the 29-year-old, as they looked to add a number nine to their squad.

However, just like Everton, Unai Emery’s men were put off by the financial requirements of the operation to sign Richarlison.

What Richarlison’s camp now expects regarding his future

ESPN Brazil say that the striker could now end up staying at Tottenham until the January transfer window despite his public outburst.

With the transfer windows in Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia remaining open for now, the player and Tottenham are waiting to see if proposals come in from those countries.

However, those close to Richarlison are of the belief that the clubs in these leagues cannot afford Tottenham’s asking price and the striker’s salary demands.
