Destiny Udogie’s future is once again attracting attention from Italy, but Tottenham Hotspur appear determined to protect one of their key assets despite growing interest.

Tottenham Hotspur know how difficult injuries can be over the course of a league season.

Last campaign was just as bad as the previous one, with Spurs at one point having 12 first-team players sidelined through fitness problems.

Tottenham were even labelled the most unlucky side in the division last season, given the number of players unavailable and the amount of time they spent out injured.

Among those to spend one of the longest periods on the sidelines was Destiny Udogie, who missed 20 games after spending 136 days on the injury table.

Tottenham set Destiny Udogie transfer price

Corriere dello Sport are now reporting that Destiny Udogie is attracting interest from Serie A sides Juventus and Fiorentina.

Spurs Web has since reported on interest from The Old Lady, who are keen to sign Udogie and have been exploring creative ways to get Tottenham to agree to a deal.

Fiorentina also need a new left-back as they look to offload two of their current options, Fortini and Gosens.

Their departures would leave Balbo as the only fit left-back, particularly with Fabiano Parisi injured until October, which has sparked Fiorentina’s interest.

Spurs remain in strong position over Destiny Udogie

However, signing Udogie will not come cheap, with Spurs said to value him at £43m (€50m).

Fiorentina do not agree with that valuation, with reports explaining that they believe it is an exorbitant price, particularly when his injury record is taken into account.

Tottenham, however, are in a strong negotiating position, with Udogie’s contract running until 2030, leaving them firmly in the driving seat in any negotiations.

Spurs have since gone on to bolster their left-back options in the wake of Udogie’s injury record, with Andy Robertson coming in as extra cover.

The two full-backs do have contrasting injury records, with Robertson being fit for most of his career so far.
