Danny Murphy has revealed that the one factor that has got him worried about Tottenham’s chances of staying up ahead of their final game of the season against Everton.

The Spurs players will rightly be feeling that they have squandered opportunities to guarantee their survival in the Premier League in the lead-up to Sunday’s clash.

Their home draws against Leeds and Brighton, and their recent away loss at Stamford Bridge, could come back to bite the Lilywhites, who now need a point on Sunday to be assured of their spot in the top-flight next season.

Roberto De Zerbi has said that Tottenham’s clash against Everton is bigger than last year’s Europa League final, and it is hard to disagree, given the devastating consequences relegation will have on the club.

Danny Murphy worried Tottenham are going to be relegated

Spurs can also stay up despite losing against Everton if West Ham fail to beat Leeds on Sunday, but Murphy expects Nuno Espirito Santo’s men to pick up three points.

The pundit believes that relegation will be decided by very slim margins and is worried that the lack of quality up front could cost Tottenham dearly.

When asked who he expects to go down, the former Spurs midfielder told talkSPORT: “I think it will be a tiny margin on the day, a lot will depend on Tottenham’s start to the game, I think if they were to go a goal down, the nerves would kick in.

“One of Tottenham’s biggest problems is their creativity, chances, they can’t score goals! I think West Ham will beat Leeds and I’ve got a bad feeling here. I want Tottenham to stay up but I’ve got a bad feeling they’re going to go.”

Cristian Romero will be supporting his Spurs teammates on Sunday

Despite being out with an injury, one would have expected Cristian Romero to offer support to his teammates from the bench for what is arguably the biggest game in Tottenham’s recent history.

Instead, the Spurs captain will be in Argentina on Sunday, cheering on his boyhood club Belgrano in their league final against River Plate.

Many Tottenham fans are fuming at Romero’s behaviour and do not wish to see him in a Lilywhite shirt again.
