Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to work hard on a deal for Savinho, with just days left until the new Premier League campaign begins.
When Savinho is in a standoff with Man City in order to push through a move to Tottenham, recent developments at the Manchester club have potentially made the Lilywhites’ pursuit harder.
City are struggling to bring Pedro Neto through the door after identifying the Chelsea man as their preferred replacement for the Brazilian.
To make matters worse, Jeremy Doku picked up an injury in the Community Shield clash and is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks, leaving Enzo Maresca’s side short of wide options.

Tottenham are ‘increasingly confident’ of landing Savinho
Football Insider have now claimed that despite these developments, the Lilywhites remain ‘locked in discussions’ with City over a deal for the 22-year-old.
The report says that Spurs are ‘increasingly confident’ of securing a deal for Savinho before the September 1 transfer deadline.
While Enzo Maresca’s men are holding out for £70m, Tottenham are still trying to negotiate the fee down to £65m and are ready to pull the trigger if City cede to their demands.
Savinho remains one of Spurs’ ‘leading targets’ in the final 12 days of the window, with the player having been clear to his employers for ‘several months’ that he wants to move to N17.
Spurs face Savinho deadline ahead of Brentford clash
Tottenham are short of wide options at the moment, due to injuries to Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert, and De Zerbi may have hoped to have the Man City start signed in time for the club’s first game of the season.
Spurs have to complete the Savinho deal and register him by 12 pm on Friday for him to play a part in the club’s clash against Brentford on Saturday.
If the Lilywhites do not manage to complete the deal before that time, Mikey Moore may be in line for just the third Premier League start of his career at the Gtech Community Stadium.
