Tottenham Hotspur fans will be excited as Fabrizio Romano has now doubled down on his claim on the Lilywhites’ pursuit of a new number nine.
Time is running out in the transfer window, with Spurs still having plenty of work to do in the 12 days that remain.
Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly confident that Tottenham will land both Savinho and Cody Gakpo, with the pair thought to be keen on leaving Manchester City and Liverpool respectively, in favour of a more prominent role at N17.
Some centre-forwards are also being linked with a late move to Spurs, who could potentially have a brand new frontline before the window slams shut.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that Tottenham want a striker plus Cody Gakpo
A few days ago, Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel that Spurs’ pursuit of a striker is independent of their efforts to land Savinho and Gakpo.
Some Tottenham fans on social media were surprised by this claim, with one supporter suggesting that Gakpo is the backup striker option that De Zerbi wants.
However, Romano reiterated his initial message, responding to the fan in question with a straightforward “no”.
Which striker are Spurs likely to pursue?
Victor Osimhen appears to be out of Tottenham’s reach, with Galatasaray wanting an eye-watering figure for the striker while his wage demands are also considerable.
It has been widely reported that Spurs have held discussions with Monaco over Folarin Balogun, who is valued by the Ligue 1 club at €60m (£51m).
Meanwhile, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has continued suggesting that Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is seen as a good fit for De Zerbi’s system, although he did seem to rule out a move for Villarreal’s Georges Mikautadze.
