Tottenham Hotspur have made major changes to their squad this summer, with eight new players arriving through the door, and that has affected their homegrown numbers.
Savio and Marmoush became Spurs’ seventh and eighth signings of the window over the past few days, with the Lilywhites’ overall spending this summer approaching £400m.
However, Tottenham have also sold 10 players so far, meaning that the club’s net spend only stands at £177.8m.
The North London club have managed to complete a full rebuild of the squad in just one window, and they have done so while being mindful of the homegrown numbers.
Tottenham’s 2026/27 homegrown numbers explained
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now revealed that Wilson Odobert is now considered homegrown from this season as he has spent three years in England before turning 21.
That means that Tottenham now have exactly the number of homegrown players they are required to by the Premier League: eight.
The likes of Souza, Mikey Moore, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Mathys Tel can all go on that under-21s list, but Tottenham still have two players over the limit of non-homegrown players allowed in the squad.
While Spurs now have 19 players who do not qualify as homegrown, 17 is the limit allowed by the Premier League.

Why Spurs still have room for one non-homegrown signing
Gold says that Kota Takai is expected to leave the club before the window slams shut, and also points out that Pape Sarr and Richarlison are also being linked with moves away.
If all three players leave, Tottenham will be down 16 non-homegrown players in their squad, thus making room for potentially one more addition before the window slams shut on September 1.
Even if Spurs find themselves going over the limit, they have the option of not registering Xavi Simons in their squad for the first half of the season, with the Dutchman currently recovering from an ACL injury.
De Zerbi admitted in his post-match press conference on Saturday that Richarlison, Pape Sarr, and Kevin Danso have all asked to leave Tottenham. Danso is especially valuable to Spurs as a homegrown player.
