Journalist Alex Crook has provided a promising update regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham are looking to poach Summerville from their fierce rivals after staying in the Premier League at the expense of the Hammers.
Various outlets have stated that West Ham have decided to cash in on the Spurs target, as they need to raise plenty of funds and cut their wage bill following their relegation to the Championship.
Some sources have claimed over recent weeks that Tottenham would need to pay £35m for Summerville, who the Hammers paid £25m to sign from Leeds United two years ago.

Alex Crook expects Tottenham to go in for Crysencio Summerville
Alex Crook has revealed that Spurs also made a serious attempt to sign the Dutch winger during the January transfer window.
West Ham rebuffed their interest at the time, but the journalist is confident the Lilywhites will go back in for the 24-year-old after acquiring Mohammed Kudus from their London rivals last summer.
When asked about Tottenham’s interest in Summerville, Crook told talkSPORT: “Well, they tried in January, came back with a pretty low-ball bid that West Ham immediately rejected. They knew how important Summerville would be to their ultimately futile attempt to stay in the Premier League.
“I think Summerville is one of the players who will definitely move on this summer. Obviously, they’ve already raided West Ham once in recent seasons for Mohammed Kudus, and I do expect Tottenham to go back in for Summerville.”
Spurs could be involved in a bidding war for Summerville
A recent report from Italy claimed that Roma have moved ahead of Spurs in the race to land the West Ham star, with the winger having spoken to his international teammate, Donyell Malen, regarding a switch to the Stadio Olimpico.
However, it is not just the Giallorossi that the Lilywhites have to be worried about in the race for Summerville, with Crook revealing that Everton and Aston Villa are also on the winger’s trail.
Crook added about the race for the 24-year-old: “They (Tottenham) won’t be the only club. I think Everton have been registered with interest and Aston Villa, so there could be a bit of a bidding war when it comes to Summerville.”
