Lucas Bergvall has admitted what his goals are for the upcoming season as Tottenham Hotspur fight to keep the midfielder at the club.
Spurs have spent a whopping £185m on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to completely revamp their midfield, but that has had one unintended consequence.
It has been widely reported that Bergvall has informed Tottenham that he wants to leave in search of regular game time elsewhere.
Several top clubs around Europe have been alerted by the Spurs midfielder’s availability, but the Lilywhites are not prepared to let him go without a fight.

Tottenham star Lucas Bergvall wants to play regularly in his natural position
On Wednesday, The Telegraph revealed that Spurs have taken a clear stance that Bergvall is not for sale this summer.
The outlet claimed that Roberto De Zerbi and Johan Lange both held talks with the youngster to assure him that he is part of the club’s plans.
The midfielder has now spoken to the Swedish press about his future, insisting that his priority is to get regular starts in his natural position.
Speaking to Aftonbladet, Bergvall said: “I want continuous matches in my position. That is the only goal. We’ll see what happens in the future. I’ve only been focused on the World Cup until now.”
When asked if he wants to remain in the Premier League, the youngster responded: “As I said, my focus has been on the World Cup. We’ll deal with whatever comes next. I don’t know – we’ll see.”
Bergvall makes admission after World Cup heartbreak
After coming on as a substitute in all three of Sweden’s group stage fixtures, the Tottenham man got the nod to start the round of 32 fixture against France.
Les Blues brushed aside the Scandinavian side 3-0 to dump them out of the tournament, and Bergvall admitted that the runners-up from the last World Cup were deserving of the win.
When asked for his reflection on the match, he said: “It’s difficult to say straight afterwards. You have mixed feelings. But it felt like the team and I were switched on from the start. We were in control and created some chances. But France were the better team and deserved to go through.”
