James Maddison has provided an injury update after reports suggested he had suffered a recurrence of a hip problem at Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison is yet to kick a ball this summer transfer window despite being part of Spurs’ camp.
He was included in Roberto De Zerbi’s 35-man squad to tour Australia and New Zealand but did not feature, with the Spurs boss stating that caution was being taken with the midfielder.
Maddison barely managed 90 minutes of football last season, playing just 34 minutes after returning at the business end of the campaign following an ACL knock.

James Maddison provides Tottenham injury update after hip injury rumours
With the Englishman struggling for fitness and not featuring in pre-season so far, reports suggested that Maddison had suffered a recurrence of a hip injury.
It was stated that the attacking midfielder was in a race against time to be fit for Spurs’ Premier League opener.
The 29-year-old has now taken to social media to provide an update of his own regarding his fitness.
According to Maddison, there has been no recurrence of any hip problem. Instead, the midfielder made it clear that he has been training (to some degree) and that he is working hard to be as healthy as possible this season.
He wrote: “Feeling good after another good session today with the team. Working so hard to be healthy and have a great year. Definitely have not had any reoccurring of any injury I have had before. Your itk is not itk coys.”

This is certainly a big boost for Tottenham if the Englishman has not suffered any further injury setbacks.
Tottenham still have two pre-season games to play before the Premier League season officially commences for them.
