Tottenham Hotspur survived the drop on the final day of the season, but the consequences are already beginning to hit West Ham United hard, with growing uncertainty now surrounding the future of Jarrod Bowen, with Spurs now lurking.

It was always going to be either Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham United in the 2025-26 Premier League relegation battle, as the season went down to the final day.

For Spurs, the task was simple – avoid defeat, and Premier League football was secured. West Ham, meanwhile, needed to win and hope Tottenham lost to preserve their top-flight status, but that was not to be, much to the delight of Spurs supporters.

Relegation was always going to bring severe consequences for whichever side went down, and the Hammers are now beginning to feel the effects.

Tottenham monitoring Jarrod Bowen transfer situation

Football Insider has now revealed that West Ham need to raise upwards of £100m in player sales to fund life in the Championship next season, meaning several big-name stars could depart the London Stadium.

Jarrod Bowen is among those who could leave after a stellar individual campaign in which the forward scored 9 league goals and registered 11 assists.

Among the clubs monitoring Bowen are Tottenham, who have tracked the England international for some time and could reignite their interest this summer.

Spurs are looking to strengthen in the wide forward areas, with Spurs Web recently reporting Tottenham’s interest in Savinho.

However, many Lilywhites supporters have called for Bowen to be targeted instead and, with the West Ham man potentially available for as little as £35m, Spurs are expected to hold interest.

Manchester United are also said to be in the race for the 29-year-old and could rival Spurs for his signature.

Spurs should keep close eye on Jarrod Bowen stance

While West Ham’s relegation has been devastating for the club, Bowen himself also appears deeply affected by the drop into the Championship.

The forward took to social media to apologise to supporters and reflect on the season’s disappointment, with his emotional message potentially hinting that his time in east London could be nearing an end.

“It’s hard to post something like this when all you’re feeling is embarrassment and pain,” Bowen wrote on social media.

“I could write loads trying to explain where it all went wrong this season, but honestly what you deserve from me is an apology.

“Winning that trophy in Prague was the best night of my career. Sunday was the worst. We just weren’t good enough. Simple as that. And that’s why the season ended the way it did.

“To the fans, you didn’t let us down once. The support home and away never changed, even when things weren’t good enough from us on the pitch. We should have given you more. You deserved more.

“One thing I know about this club is that it has the desire and fight to bounce back from this. This club belongs in the Premier League and deserves to be back there as soon as possible.”

The use of ‘this club’ and the lack of ‘we’ or ‘us’ could give a subtle hint that Bowen is on the way out in the coming weeks.

Spurs will do well to keep a close eye on the situation surrounding the forward.
