Tottenham Hotspur’s summer is shaping up to be a busy one, with the club already making moves in the transfer market. The big question now turns to who stays, who goes, and who gets a second look. Here’s a complete breakdown of every player Spurs should keep, hold or sell this summer.
The summer window has only just opened, but Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly already been busy working on both new signings and several departures.
Tottenham confirmed their first signing of the summer window after fulfilling their £21 million obligation to buy Kevin Danso from RC Lens, following his winter loan move to N17.
Spurs also announced the departure of four first-team players, with Fraser Forster, Sergio Reguilon, and Alfie Whiteman all leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as free agents with their contracts having ended, while Timo Werner also returns to RB Leipzig after completing his loan spell.
But what of the rest of the Tottenham first-team squad? Who should the club be looking to keep, loan out, release or sell? Here is what we think.

Tottenham decisions on all squad players: keep, hold, loan, sell
Guglielmo Vicario – Keep. The Italian is clearly a leader in the Tottenham dressing room, and his leadership would come in handy during the club’s Champions League run next season. Although there are question marks over his handling of crosses, he could do a job for one more season.
Antonin Kinsky – Keep. Kinsky is a great understudy. He is confident, can play out from the back, and is better than Vicario when it comes to handling crosses. He is only just 21, so there is still room for loads of improvement.
Pedro Porro – Keep. He had a difficult League season, just like every other Tottenham player, but he was fit throughout while his teammates were picking up injuries left, right and centre. He offers loads of tactical flexibility given his ability to invert, overlap and create from deep – thirteen goal contributions last season as well.
Cristian Romero – Keep. There is loads of talk about Romero leaving and the potential of Tottenham cashing in, but if you want to keep winning, you need a team made up of winners who have experience winning things. Romero gives Spurs that, so he has to stay.
Micky van de Ven – Keep. A great mercenary to have. His pace is simply irreplaceable, and he makes Tottenham play a lot better.
Kevin Danso – Keep. The move is already permanent, so his future is more or less settled. He surely is a great backup option to have, but Tottenham need another defender this summer.
Ben Davies – Release. It has passed his time. He was a great servant of the club, and it was nice to see him win the Europa League alongside Heung-min Son, but after eleven years, Davies would have to leave on a free for me.
Archie Gray – Keep. Still young, still developing, and has loads of potential. He is versatile as well. It is a no-brainer, this one.
Radu Dragusin – Hold. Not a definite keep, nor a guaranteed sell. Simply hold for now and decide on his future when the managerial position is decided. For sure, Dragusin would perform well in another setup, but in Postecoglou’s setup, he does not seem like the right fit. If a good offer comes in, then sell.
Djed Spence – Keep. A good squad player for Tottenham to have around. Great mentality to fight for a place in this team, but his end-of-season form left much to be desired. He is still a keep.
Destiny Udogie – Keep. The last thing Spurs need to do this summer is disrupt that back four. When they all play together, they look like a serious defensive unit, and Udogie on his day is a good player. Manchester City being linked with Udogie says it all.
Yves Bissouma – Sell. Thanks for the two performances in the semi-final and final of the Europa League. But, overall, Bissouma has been far too inconsistent, and that is not good enough at this level. Looks like a good way for the club to get some cash in.
Lucas Bergvall – Keep. One of the players of the season. He is young, and Bergvall has signed a six-year deal. His future is at Spurs.
Rodrigo Bentancur – Hold. If Bentancur does not want to sign the contract he is being offered, then simply sell, as it is not worth risking him going on a free transfer.
James Maddison – Keep. A good player on his day, although he can be non-existent in games at times. However, this season he showed that he can step up when needed. Feels like a player whose levels would rise a little higher if surrounded by better players.
Pape Matar Sarr – Hold. Not a huge fan. Feels like there is surely better out there. A good squad option, but if a good offer comes for the midfielder, then take it and improve on him.
Dejan Kulusevski – Keep. Kulusevski was one of the players of the season last campaign. Players who are versatile and hardworking are a manager’s dream, so you just have to keep him.
Mikey Moore – Loan. Give him a loan to Borussia Dortmund and let him get experience playing first-team football regularly. He is one for the future.
Brennan Johnson – Keep. He was a constant source of goals for Tottenham last season. Has loads to improve on, but you would think that, given how young he is, he would only improve.
Wilson Odobert – Keep. Still a good squad option. It is hard to judge his first season at Tottenham because it was so stop-and-go given his injuries, but for now, keep.
Mathys Tel – Hold. Not a fan of the player. He did not do much for Tottenham in his loan spell. He did show a few glimpses, but for a player with a £50 million price tag, we do not want to be seeing glimpses. If he can be bought for half that price, then great; if not, let him head back to Germany.
Heung-min Son – Keep. The club captain and legend. Great to see he finally won a trophy, and while there is talk about Son potentially leaving, he can still give one more season to Spurs. He should be kept, as his experience playing in the Champions League would be handy.
Dominic Solanke – Keep. But he needs to be better next season when it comes to goal scoring. Nine goals in the Premier League is very poor.

Richarlison – Sell. Cash in. You simply cannot rely on him to stay fit, and given the modern-day schedule, availability is very key.
George Abbott – Loan. Another loan spell for George Abbott would be on the cards this summer, after he impressed on loan at Notts County.
Jamie Donley – Loan. Donley has a case for the best Tottenham loanee, but a move to the Tottenham first team might be a little too soon for the youngster, given that he is coming from League One.
Josh Keeley – Loan. Keeley could be a Tottenham goalkeeper at some point in the future, but for now, Spurs should be looking to get the youngster a loan in the Championship.
Alfie Dorrington – Loan. It has not worked out for Dorrington, who is out in Aberdeen. If he cannot hack it in the Scottish league, then it would be tougher in the Premier League, so another loan seems about right.
Luca Gunter – Loan. The 19-year-old goalkeeper has had a tough time at Wealdstone in the National League. There are several goalkeepers above him in the pecking order. Would need another loan, perhaps back to the National League.
Will Lankshear – Loan. It has been a really poor spell at West Bromwich Albion. If Ryan Mason gets a move to the Championship side, it would be nice to see Lankshear return with him.
Alfie Devine – Loan. Another loan for Devine seems about right, after a successful loan spell at Westerlo, although injuries hampered his progress.
Luka Vuskovic – Keep. The centre-back has impressed on loan at Westerlo, and Vuskovic has even earned a call-up to the Croatian national team. Would love for him to be given a chance at Tottenham next season.
Ashley Phillips – Sell. Not impressed with Stoke City, and it does not look like he has a place at Tottenham. Of course, if they can get a few extra pounds from his sale, that would be perfect.
Alejo Veliz – Sell. Not good enough for Tottenham, and there is no point loaning him out anymore. Just cash in on him.
Bryan Gil – Sell. There is already a buy option in his current deal, and it is reported that Girona are considering triggering the buy option for Bryan Gil. Indeed, Tottenham can make a few extra bucks from his sale this summer.
Manor Solomon – Sell. A good player who has impressed on loan at Leeds United, ultimately becoming a fan favourite. Looks like Solomon could return to Leeds, given recent links. £15–20 million would be perfect.
Yang Min-hyeok – Loan. Still young and adapting to life in England. Another loan spell would help him get some much-needed experience.
Dane Scarlett – Sell. He has not had an impact in a Tottenham shirt. Feels as though it might never work out for the forward. If Spurs can sell and make some profit, that would be great.
Brandon Austin – Keep. A great third-choice option for Tottenham, who could push for that second-choice spot too.
